Hi,
 
Your observation is an interesting situation. I think this depends on 
thickness of mica and optical properties of material whether you can 
observe the interference pattern. On the other hand, the light intensity, 
that the mica transmits, is very important and if the thickness of mica 
increases and light intensity is decreased, the bright dots might be 
created. In other case, the interference pattern wil be created depending 
on the optical path difference.
 
I think you should realize this experiment and write it.
