Are there similarities between the dermis and the epidermis?

You’ve given me a bit of a stumper here. Dermis and epidermis are two
different tissues that are part of the skin. Because they are different
tissues, it would have been a lot easier to list their differences. The
dermis is made up of connective tissue, collagen and elastin fibers, while
the epidermis is made up of keratin and squamous epithelial cells. All this
means that the two tissue layers really don’t have that much in common.
After all, that’s why they are considered to be different tissues.

I think the list of similarities you developed is about as good as it’s
going to get.
