Subject: Name of brain function that focuses attention on certain things

There is a "reflex" or brain function that is responsible for pregnant woman 
seeing more pregnant women than usual. Or you buy a BMW and all of a sudden it 
seems like everyone owns a BMW. There is a name for this heightened focus on 
your environment where you have a connection... type of car, pregnant, etc. 
Think it might be in the cerrabellum? Thanks! (PS: It's a two word name...)
