It is not entirely clear from your question, but I am going to assume you mean 'enzyme catalyzed reactions taking place outside of organism' or 'enzymes used in technology'.

One possible answer to your question is that enzymes can allow a reaction to run a reasonable rate under 'mild conditions'. Many traditional chemical reactions will only run at a reasonable rate under conditions of high temperature or pressure (which is expensive), or involve catalysts and reagents that can cause environmental problems. Enzymatic reactions are typically run in a warm aqueous (water) solution, under normal pressure and near nuetral pH. There are, however, exceptions to everything above.
