Working aon a science project regarding determining if lysosomal malfunction
contributed to Macular degeneration I came upon a startling finding.
Chloroquine trated Retinal pigment cells formed large enigmatic white vacuoles
under phase contrast microscopy. Moreoverm, there were dark dense bodies
localized on the exterioir. Why are these vacuoles forming? Is this a cells
defense mechanism against a foreign drug?
