I would strongly recommend leaving this wild bird in the wild. In the southern California area there are numerous flocks of wild parrots living completely self-sufficiently. They will survive just fine through the winter in that climate. It is possible that a predator could hurt this bird, but that's part of the life of a wild animal. I also suggest that you stop feeding this wild bird and allow him to make his own way, hopefully back to a flock where he/she can be with his friends, and have babies. A parrot is much more likely to survive with a group. If you're interested in learning more, I recommend a movie called "The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill" which tells the story of a wild flock of parrots living in San Francisco. The website of The California Parrot Project will also tell you more about the many flocks of wild parrots. Keep watching those birds! -Marcy LaViollette
