Hello, Tina!

In certain industries, most of those associated with delicate electronics, certain types of special clothing and footwear can be used to reduce static discharges. The shoes (which look very similar to athletic shoes) are probably something you could investigate. Regular shoes usually have soles that are insulating, but these are made so that a conductive path exists from your body to the ground, allowing static charges to leak away.
