MadSci Network: Evolution |
I'm sorry for the misconception of my question to you last time about the coelacanth. I was not stating that it was implausible or impossible for the coelacanth to be alive after millions of years, but rather how is it possible for the coelacanth to be alive today without any striking or drastic evolution taken place? Surely if amphibians or sea creatures evolved into mammals or land creatures due to weather or simply random DNA, why didn't the coelacanth experience evolutiondue to weather circumstances or random DNA change, like every other species. Please do not misunderstand my motives, the only reason i write to the MadSci Network is because it gives my insight and replenshes my thirst for knowledge, and if i were to hold to my views without knowing otherwise, how would I ever know if what i am stating is true or not. That is why i sincerely appreciate all your responses, for we both gain knowledge through our responses, and that is what science and knowledge is all about.
Re: How could have the coelacanth been dated back 300 million years ago?
