Dear Hasanah,
The veins of a plant are composed of two different kinds of tissue. The tubelike
xylem cells carry water and nutrients from the roots upward, and the
phloem cells carry sugar from the leaves, where it is manufactured during
photosynthesis, to the rest of the plant.
