Cape penguins live near the shore in South Africa. The climate in South
Africa is very similar to California. Thus, the penguins live near the
ocean where it is relatively cool and when they come ashore, it's to a
climate much like Los Angeles or San Diego. Not so hot and they can drink
sea water, of which there is a plentiful supply.
