The short answer is no. Beer does not contain enough nitrogen or 
phosphorus to add these elements to the soil and increase plant 
production.  I have never seen a chemical breakdown of beer, but knowing 
the components  that go into beer I am sure there is not enough nitrogen 
and phosphorus to help a plant very much.
If this is for a science project, set up your experiment to test the 
hypothesis.
