Roger, Typos don't help. Notice the incorrect use of "affect" in the first sentence of the "In Summary" of that site. But seriously, about 80% of what is in that article is scientifically correct, but there are some very serious miscues in the remainder. The most important thing is that CO2 is not indestructible, and it does not last forever. CO2 is chemically removed by the single most important biochemical reaction, which is photosynthesis. Look at Figure 2 on this page: What this is showing is that of 750 units of carbon in the atmosphere (nearly all of which is CO2), 200 are cycled out each year between the air and oceans. The atmosphere is constantly losing CO2 and constantly gaining CO2. Before the industrial era, the gain and loss were in balance, but the atmosphere now gains more than it loses each year, because of the extra input from fossil fuels. If the balance of the natural fluxes between the land, oceans and atmosphere could be tipped in favor of absorbing carbon, the level of CO2 in the atmosphere could go down. But there is no easy way of doing this, and so reduction of fossil fuel burning is by far the most straightforward way to lessen the impact of global climate change. Anyway, good luck with your work.
