Re: Why do pigs like the mud?

Pigs like the mud for three reasons:

1. To help keep cool. Pigs do not have sweat glands and the cool mud helps them to lower their body temperature.

2. Pigs are susceptible to sun burn and the mud/dirt helps block the sun.

3. The mud can act as a physical barrier to parasitic insects.
