This/your web site for instance says "Nevertheless, on average the blood fully circulates in the human body some seven to eight times per minute." The page is at http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/1998-05/895085485.Gb.r.html This does not coincide with my physiology text, which states there are approximately 5L of blood in the circulation, during periods of strenuous exercise in well- trained athletes, cardiac output may reach 35L/min. A simple calculation (35L/min)/5L = 7. SO the number of times the blood fully circulates for an average person, not exercising, is FAR lower. My question is can you point to a journal or text that verifies what Dr. Frederick Sweet posted, or is he mistaken?
