Assuming you are talking about Blue Grenadier, also called Blue Hake, Hoki, or New Zealand Whiptail, and which goes by the Latin name of Macruronus novaezelandiae, then it has what are called deciduous scales, i.e., scales that it can shed. But it would be a scaled fish.
