That is a very interesting question - thank you for sending it!

Your question is also not an easy one to answer - it really depends on the
type of robot you are thinking about.

For instance, there are Lego(r) robots as part of the Mindstorms(r)systems
that a quite easy to build over a few days or less for just one person.

There are other much more complicated robots, such as the Canadarm(r) that
was used on many of the space shuttles. This robot required years of work
by a team of many many people to design, build, and test this robot.

So, you see that there are many correct answers to your question!
