If a person has a problem clearing acid from their body, and they take a proton 
pump inhibitor for acid reflux, is it possible that this would result in a 
metabolic acidosis?  Do proton pump inhibitors only inhibit the pump in the 
stomach or also in the kidney, and other locations in the body?
