It's the other way around -- Bart Bok was called "Mr. Milky Way" because he studied our galaxy, the Milky Way. (Why does our galaxy have such a funny name? This page has the answer, plus some nice pictures.)

There is a biography of Bok called The Man Who Sold the Milky Way, by David Levy. Lots more information about our galaxy is available through the MADSCi search engine.
