"Rolly-polly" is another name for the pill bug, any member of the genus Armadillidium, a small, terrestrial, isopod crustacean with a convex, segmented flexible shell (like an armadillo) that allows the pill bug to curl up into a ball (like a pill) when threatened.

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Crustacea
Order: Isopoda
Genus: Armadillidium
