I know that with new research on 16s ribosomal RNA the Oomycota has been
shown to be much older than the true fungi, but if it does not belong in
the Fungal Kingdom where does it belong and what are the taxonomic
charateristics between the so called true fungi and the Oomycota, I think
I have read somewhere that they are similar to Diatoms and Brown algae,
Why?
