Cyanide is a simple chemical, just one Carbon & one Nitrogen atom (
CN ). Cyanide has been known to have an bitter almond taste and odor.
However, not everyone can smell cyanide, the ability to detect the odor
is genetic. I cannot detect the odor myself, but I have worked with
individuals who knew when an autopsy was being conducted on a cyanide
victim. These people could smell the cyanide as soon as they walked into
the Medical Examiner's Office!

I do not know what you mean by computing the taste of Cyanide. You may or
may not be able to taste or smell the Cyanide based upon a genetic
disposition. I would assume that the greater the quantity used, the
more "taste" you would have, however short lived it would be.

I can say that there is an entire science devoted to flavors and scents.
For example, if a scientist wanted to determine how bitter a beer
would "taste", he or she could determine the alpha acid content. The
greater the amount of alpha acid the more bitter the beer would be.

Hope this helps,

Mike Doskotz
