I'll answer your question, but first let me define a few things: absorption- taking a nutrient from the digestive tract and into the blood supply utilization- using a nutrient for its intended purpose in the body (in the case of proteins, making muscle tissue or forming other important proteins) How many grams of protein can the body efficiently absorb (use)in one sitting? I would say that a good estimate for absorption would be about 30 grams at one sitting. This does not mean that all of it will be utilized, however. Utilization depends on how much of the absorbed protein is actually needed by the body at a particular time. Excess protein, which is absorbed, but not utilized may be excreted in the form of urea and other carbon containing compounds. Excess protein can also be converted to fat if too much is eaten. Hope this helps... Sincerely, Gabriel
