We're told that most remains of organisms never make it into the
fossil record, because conditions weren't right for fossilization to
occur. What percentage actually becomes tangible, readable fossil? Or
in other words, how much is actually lost forever? Also, of all the
fossils in the fossil record, what percentage are discovered and read
by man?
