Hello, Renata. If your project needs graphs, then it should involve some input variables that affect some output
variable. If you want it to be something that you can have a reasonable survey of student opinions, and also have it
appear as if in a newspaper or magazine, then it should have some controversy associated with it.

With these in mind, and realizing that the project is for Honors Biology, so therefore should probably involve biology in
some way, here are some ideas, starting from very small large scale to very small (microscopic) scale.

Large Scale: Population Biology and Ecology

* Are we in danger of a major climate change, and if so, what sort of danger?
   - Survey the student opinions, get photos of temperature and ozone variations over the years,
make graphs of temperatures in the ocean and ozone versus time, graphs of CO2 levels, etc

* Are human beings exterminating other species more rapidly than evolution would have,
and more rapidly than historical rates of extinctions of species?

* Can we turn other planets habitable for humans and - if so - should we?

* Can we make space ships that can last long enough for humans to colonize other star systems,
and - if so - should we?

Medium Scale: Zoology, Botany, Medicine

* What effects do various chemicals, hormones, etc have on (pick a plant or animal)
(Note: please try not to violate any ethical issues or injure any pets. Thanks.)

* How do various colors of light effect the growth rate of a given plant

* Should we clone animals? If so, what animals should we not clone? Where do we draw the line?

* Should we bioengineer (create) new species? Is so, where do we draw the line?

	    * Should we try to create intelligent apes? Intelligent dogs? If so, should we give them
        the same rights as humans?

Small Scale: Insects

* What environmental factors effect the rates of lightning bugs flashing or crickets chirping?

* Can you train ants to avoid certain objects or pursue other objects, based on color or??

Microscopic Scale: Cell Biology, Bacteria, Yeast, Mold

* How do certain chemicals or environmental factors (temperature, humidity) affect the rate
of growth of yeast or bacteria or mold colonies?

* How quickly do certain chemicals kill bacteria, mold, etc

I hope one of more of these topics are of interest to you - the most effective science projects generally
are those that not only involve some input and output factors, and maybe a little controversy, but also grabbed the
interest of the young scientist or engineer-to-be.
