Whenever I try to make tea, I find my standard plastic kettle filled with hundreds of small black ants, some drowned, some crawling. Even after I wash them out and boil the kettle, they return as soon as the water has cooled. There are sometimes ants wandering around other parts of the kitchen, but not many. Any ideas why they should choose the kettle to hang around in, especially considering that they get thrown out all the time?
