The mirror didn't affect your vision, it affected your hand-eye 
coordination. 

When you reach out to touch something, there is constant 
communication between your eyes, your brain, and your hand 
to make sure that you reach the target. If you see that
your hand is too far to the left, you move your hand to the right.
These reflexes are so automatic that you usually don't even
notice them. When you look in a mirror, hand-eye coordination
can get mixed up because left and right are reversed in the image.
