I woke up this morning just before dawn, and when I stepped outside, there
was the brightest thing I've ever seen in the eastern morning sky. In fact,
it was the only thing visible in the sky, but it was as bright as the sun,
but small, like a planet.

I'm wondering what it was? I thought that maybe it was Venus. but it was
much too high up in the sky for that. I then thought that maybe it was HST
or some satellite that was reflecting the rising sun. I checked a star map
program, but I can't make heads or tails of it.

It was NOT an aircraft... it was definelty a planet, star, or satellite.

Any idea what it was?

Thanks!
