the specific heat (heat capacity or heat retention) of a liquid in not
generally a function of the
density of the liquid.
Example:
mercury is very dense but has a lower specific heat than water.
Alcohol is less dense that water but also has a lower specific than water.
Temperature retention depends of the substance, not necessarily the density
