I am comparing regular water and salt water to see how the act differently.....i have bolied them, froze, floated things and created bubbles. I know that adding salt to the water makes it behave differently, but I do not know why?

Added later:
Thanks for responding so quickly! Well, for the boiling we used 2 cups of water and added 1/2 cup of salt to one of the pans. The regular water came to a boil faster than the salt water. The we used 2 cups water again with 1/2 cup of salt in one and froze them. The regular water froze, but the salt water has not yet....it's been in the freezer for 4 days now. The bubble experiment was similar, again 2 cups water adding 1/2 cup of salt to one then added dish soap to each. The regular water made great soap suds, but the salt water hardly made any. Last we floated a little toy in the same combination and the toy sank 10 seconds faster in the regular water.

I know that the salt affects the water but I do not know how to explain it .....can you help? I have looked on the Internet and in the encyclopedias and cannot find a reason.

Thanks for your help! Jessie :}
