Hi Deena, I don't believe there is way to surgically change one's eye color as the primary outcome of eye surgery, that I am familiar with. Changing one's eye color involves changing the pigment epithelium that lines the iris of our eyes. The amount of such pigment determines the color of our eyes, with brown eyes having more melanin pigment than blue eyes. Green is somewhere in between. There are some cases in which the iris changes color or at least appears to change color over time. Some eye drops to treat glaucoma has known to change the color of an eye. Certain congenital eye conditions can produce a lighter colored eye. There are also some eye diseases that can produce a lighter or darker colored eye. Changing eye color with contact lenses is very easy and relatively safe to do, even if you don't need a prescription to see. Many companies make colored contacts that can really make an eye look very different and quite natural looking as well. These are done with soft contact lenses. As far as a surgical procedure to change eye color, I would take a closer look at your sources. Even if such a procedure exists, is it really worth the potential risk just to change your eye color? I hope this helps, good luck! Kenton L. McWilliams, O.D.
