There are three kinds of hypothesis heard in senior school biology: Religious (God caused it to be so, especiall regarding evolution and adaptations of organisms), Teleological eg: a bird sings because it wants to attract a mate and Mechanistic - the hypothesis contributs to a better understanding of the phonomenon and is likely to suggest paths for research.  I make the following casual observations and need to write an hypothesis of each of the three types for each observation.
a) I notice many more dead sea lion pups on the beach than I did in the previous year
b) The leaves ont he north side of the lemon tree feel thicker than those on the south side of the tree
c) There are very few insectrs in the intertidal zone
d) The flounder coming up with the tide are larger with the early incoming tide than those coming in with the later incoming tide.
PLEASE HELP .... I HOPE THIS IS NOW CLEAR.
