I recall reading an article recently, speculating whether the (relatively)
high-intensity lighting used on deep-sea research subs might be damaging to
creatures used to the abyssal dark of the ocean floor. Do oceanographers
never use image intensifiers, either on their own or in conjunction with
very low-intensity lighting?
