It depends. How much is a lot? 0.1 oz. or 10 oz.? Does the toothpaste contain sodium fluoride? Other chemicals against tooth decay or whiteners? It would be very bad if the consumer is under 2 years old and not good if the consumer is under 6. If the consumer is pregnant or if the consumer is elderly it also could be a serious problem. In general, if the consumer swallows a great deal of toothpaste, more than used for brushing, one should seek professional help (an emergency medical room) or contact the nearest poison control center (listed in the phone book) as soon as possible.
