Does the size or even the lack of visible half moons at the base of
fingernaiils have any real signifigance? I've heard that they are the
growth area of the nail but, I've known people with no visible or at least
very small "moons" that seem to have no diffence in their ability to grow
fingernails that others with more obvious moons.
Is it just that these moons are more prevalent in certain genetic
backgrounds or are they a health indicator? I have heard oth stories. I'm
prepared for one or more urban myths to be shattered! In any event, thank
you for your help.
