Dear Sir or Madam:

My name is Michelle Lemire and I am a senior physics student at Overfelt
High School in San Jose, California. Iam hoping you might be able to help
with a question.

My partner and I are building an electronics device for class. Our project
specifically is a device that consists of two boards; the first contains a
microphone and the second a speaker. The device allows one to speak into
the microphone and the voice waves are changed into a beam of infrared
light. the light is beamed across to the second board, wher it is received
and changed back into voice waves, which are then transmitted through the
speaker for one to hear.

I am having some trouble researching the uses of this device and real-
world devices that are similar to what we are constructing. If you could
give me some information about early prototypes of similar devices or
about modern-day devices that work like ours, it would be appreciated.

If you are not able to help or are not able to refer me to someone who
might have some information, please contact me at: iam1230@hotmail.com
Thank you for your help and time!

Sincerely,

Michelle Lemire
