How did metamorphosis evolve?  One of my friends at school is a 
Creationist and he said that there is no explanation for how a caterpillar 
evolved into a butterfly because it all had to happen in one big step and 
that there is no way that two (male and female) caterpillars could both 
change themselves into butterflies unless there was some sort of outside 
intelligent force directing the process. How can I answer him?  Is it 
possible he is right?
