Has anyone even tried this? Why not? What are the barriers? The obvious
ones, that of actually getting the material into the ova to be fertilized
and of triggering cell activation without a actual sperm present seem to
have been solved, though they are in much need of refining, in animal
cloning experiments. Are their other barriers, other things lacking in
the genetic material of a oocyte that a sperm or a undifferentiated
diploid cell posess, that would prevent this? Or do we simply not know
enough yet?
