Artificial pollination involves a human transferring the pollen from anther to
stigma.

Natural pollination occurs without human intervention; the pollen is carried by
animals, wind, or water.

Self-pollination is when the pollen is transferred to a stigma on the same
plant or a genetically identical plant. Many species, such as pea and tomato,
have flowers adapted for self-pollination. Self-pollination is usually natural
but can be artificial.

The alternative to self-pollination is cross-pollination.
