A plant is only able to utilize carbon dioxide at the rate of 6 CO2 molecules to 6 water molecules. So, if there is carbon dioxide , water and light, the plant can live. The plant can make more food if there is a greater concentration of carbon dioxide. A plant wouldn't die but may thrive under these conditions. Think of an athlete in Denver, they are given oxygen to enhance performance. Since carbon dioxide is the necessary gas for plants, more carbon dioxide would help the plant.
