I have read the archive entries about the anatomical process of goosebumps in response to great temperature change or fear as passed down to us from our furry ancestors. However, I am interested in knowing what causes goosebumps that seem to respond to a type of emotional stimulus, i.e. music, poetry, a great speech, even a kind exchange with another human being.

Do all humans experience goosebumps this way? Is there any understanding of its link to the temperature/fear response that also causes goosebumps? What part of the brain would a message like this be sent from? Is this also a psychology question? I am fascinated by the body's ability to respond to a fleeting, exhilerating moment by producing goosebumps and would like to know any information you might have connected to this type of response. Thank you!
