Dear MadSci guys, I totally don't understand something. I just saw a Bayer commercial that said taking aspirin DURING a heart attack can actually save your life. How is this possible, when a heart attack lasts seconds to minutes, and it takes aspirin quite a while to be digested and absorbed into the bloodstream? I know aspirin is a blood thinner...but how can it help during the attack? And how in the world is someone supposed to take one during a heart attack? ("I know you can't BREATHE right now, but here, take this!") Thanks.
