Yep, monkeys have belly buttons too.  In fact all of the mammals do.  That's 
because we had placentas and umbilical chords during development.  The belly 
button was where the umbilical chord was attached.  Chickens are 
birds, not mammals, so they developed a different way (they had a yolk sac to eat 
from, where we got our food from mom, through the umbilical chord and placenta.)  
The different classes of animals are numerous, but the the ones you might wonder about, 
are: mammals (us), birds, fish, reptiles, and insects.  So if you wonder if
an animal has a bellybutton, find out if it's a mammal.  If it is, then it does.
So I leave you with this thought...  Does a blue whale have a belly button?
