Sterno is gelled ethanol and is made from a saturated solution of calcium 
acetate in water [dissolve 200+ gm Ca(OAc)2 in 600 ml H2O]

Mix 40 ml 95% ethanol with 10 ml of above solution and stir. The mixture will 
solidify.
