Without friction the world would be very differant ,walking would be
differant because when you put your weight on the foot behind you there
would be nothing to stop it sliding and thus falling over .

Another disadvantage is that bigger meteorite would fall on earth from
space because the lack of friction would mean there would be nothing to
"burn up" the meteorite and reduce its volume.

Other disadvantages include ,the cutting and processing of all materials
(metal ,wood ,plastics etc) would become very difficult and expensive
(lasers could be used for some of the above applications)
although lasers are used more increasingly in industry , tasks like cutting
firewood etc with a lser is not practical .All sports would be very
differant ,probably more boring eg in football the ball would travel
larger distances ,some people would think this would be a good idea but the
it would be like pinp pong (table tennis). All racing sports would be slower
(or cancelled) as there would be no way of slowing down or stopping

Advantages include no need for coolants in engine ,when cutting drilling
etc of metals etc. less enery needed to walk( if you could stay on your
feet) ,Tyres of cars would not wear down, cars would be more efficient
because they would not have to overcome any drag forces (friction cause by
moving through air at high speeds)
