I've read that Miller discovered that the brain could retain 7 +/- 2 units of information in short term memory: Miller, George A. "The Magical Number Seven Plus or Minus Two: Some Limits on our Capacity for Processing Information." The Psychological Review, 63 (1956): 84-97. This study is almost 44 years old now. With all that science has discovered since the time this was published, does this "chunking limit" still hold true? What is its basis? How does it develop from birth to old age? Merci.
Re: Is Miller's study on short term memory of the brain still valid?
