Here are the results of my extensive research on squirrel droppings:

Squirrels, like all rodents, have very small droppings. Their droppings are
dry. They are about the size of a raisin, and light brown in color. Since the
squirrel is outdoors, and always moving, squirrel droppings can be difficult to
find. Although both animals are rodents, you can distinugish squirrel droppings
from mouse droppings, because mouse droppings are small, about the size of an
ice-cream sprinkle. Squirrel droppings are much bigger. Unfortunately, squirrel
droppings are often mistaken for rabbit droppings, and are very similar in
appearance.

If you have a local nature center, you could take the droppings there in a
ziplock bag, and they might be able to tell you if they are rabbit or squirrel
droppings. Or, you could ask someone who has been hunting for a long time.
They would probably be able to identify them too.

Good luck!!

Erin
