Hi, Ellie!

Forest fires give off lots of carbon dioxide; they also give off large
quantities of methane, carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen, and aerosols
(which are tiny particles that make up smoke, rather than gases). All of
these are greenhouse gases, and the aerosols have a greenhouse effect as
well.

There is a good page on forest fires at
http://modarch.gsfc.nasa.gov/fire_atlas/; a link from this page to
http://modarch.gsfc.nasa.gov/fire_atlas/emissions.html
gives information specifically about forest fire emissions.
