In electron configuration the orbitals fill up idealy as 1s2 2s2 2p6
etc., and i understand the standard quirks of fillin up halves at
copper etc, but what no one seems to be able to explain is why in the
in the f series, 1 d will fill, then the all the f's fill then the d's
continue. Could you please explain the phenomanon to me. Michael
