Subject: How can two objects touch by the following principles?

I'm talking about the principle of having two objects, then cutting the space 
in half, I heard you can repeat this process infinitely, but if you can do that 
infinitely then how come you can make your fingers touch? Wouldn't the space 
always be going at each other because you can always cut it in half?
