Interesting question... you need some more information in order to complete the conversions you have mentioned. First: to go from a unit of weight to volume, you need to know the density of the material you are interested in, and you need the figure in the same units you want to convert between. For example: 2 pounds / density of (5 lb per gal) = 0.4 gallons If you don't have the density in the right units, the conversion won't work. Then you asked about kilograms to dekograms: here, you are just converting between different units of weight so you only need to know how many dekograms there are in a kilogram. Then you multiple the number of kilograms with the number of dekograms per kilogram so that the kg units cancel out and you are left with dekograms.
